We are getting ready to host our first ever sectional pinewood derby race.
Do you allow parents & Boys.... to come to the derby and participate.. that are not a part of Royal Rangers.
Yes, at the outpost level. We usually even make it a joint event with the Missionettes. Competition is by class, where there is a class for each level of Royal Rangers, each level of Missionettes, and an "open" class for anyone else. There are prizes for each class, plus a grand prize for a race between the winners of each class. With all those classes and competition for both race and show, it means a lot of prizes -- and that is OK.
Do you have a race for commanders only and a race for parents?
Sometimes the commanders go in the open class, but in a really large race, it may make sense to make a separate commanders' class.
