Greetings Victor- *old times eh?<G>

I have no doubt you did her right.. and I also do not fault the
hesitation of the "ladies"..

This don't need explaining but, others are reading and might enjoy
dropping in<G>

*My Dad is a minister, and lately he's more preacher than Dad<G>
In your church.. he'd bust down to the alter and "work it" good..

He packs anoint'n oil and clean hankies and prides himself on smell'n
good<G> He'll lead you.. he'll guide you.. He'll talk sweet..

*I'm a secular man..

I go out of my way to stay out of the spiritual "limelight",
a smile and a handshake.. mayby a hug and I'm good to go<G>

That said: *If we were in a tight spot.. say car wreck, war or
feeling *fear... The HolyGhost would rise in my *spirit. The
scriptures would come to me, that had been impressed on my heart
(*jumbled without the chapter and verse BTW) and I'm sure I'd do
right.

I figure: The person who can remember the start, see the end
and not feel fear.. has got it made<G>

Yup- go on..

One possible reason is the significance of the action-
These moments are kin to rescueing a trapped miner from a tomb.

One don't allways know the full reasons for a person comming forward
in a general service. Good Preaching generates the "sale" ..Alter
workers deal with the close. This form of ministry is best when
attended by those with a talent for the task.

Developing that Talent is noble, but I suggest that the overall
"program" be wide enough to not demand universal mastery of the "art"

One can do only, what one can do..

*Thin Ice-

I might have aluded to this before..

But I do not agree that teaching the Boys this "soul winning" course
is prime mission to them as Royal Rangers. *I beleve that as far as
a child is concerned.. *The reason they are drawn to attend is first
that the experiance is "fun".

That wasn't said outright, just wanted to say that tho<G>

Later, if we can transfer the concept of duty through membership in a
greater cause than "self".. We are doing good.. *and a Royal Ranger
"prays,reads the Bible and WHITNESSES!"

In Conclusion<G>-
-------------

The "meaning" of all this may tip the scale and issue my exit visa
to Royal Ranger ministry, save for the fact that *I was recruited
from childhood, and indoctrineated in the ministry ethic to the
exclusion of other important values. *I am confident that spiritual
outreach will never be run out of Royal Rangers.. It is prime.

However- there are 16 points to the emblem..
Allow me to stand up for *Alert! -It has an "A" in it<G>

Like a swimmer gasping for air.. the struggle can be moderated by
relaxation and laying back to rest<G> Somewhere in my many posts
you might detect a trend or a view of a man who carries a variety
of strained fobic reations to screaming HolyRoller preachers<G>

*Thank GOD for the "off button"..

Many of my church peers.. fellow rangers hit the skids and didn't
make it back to the fellowship of the FCF Campfire. *While that
is tolerable for those who remained in the brite light.. I felt
a kinship and some linkage to those who are *Missing in Action.

I am mindful of my duty to my son and family...

*Going easy, seems the right thing for me.
