You forgot to mention the hero worship of Ned Kelly who murdered 4 policeman and 1 friend
of the gang. And there are the Bushrangers (Outlaws like Ben Hall, Captian Thunderbolt,
Jack O'doughnahue (The Wild Colianal Boy).
I did indeed forget the bushrangers...
It seems funny that we do "honour" them so much.
Must be something to do with our support of the underdog/battler/larrikin that is behind it.
Then there's chopper reed. Weird eh!
BTW There was another fatal gun attack last night in Canely Valley (a Sydney Suburb).
or is that another uburn myth. Try telling that to the man family and staff of his store.
Not really sure what your point is here Adrian. Yes there are gun related deaths in Australia. I've never said there wasn't. I never said there wouldn't be.
All I said is that the proportion of gun related deaths in Australia per head of population is 29 times less than in America. Further I suggested that it was like this becasue of the number of guns in circulation.
For AUstralia to be on par with America we would need to see an additional 2 or 3 gun related deaths each and every day, in each and every week, in each and every month of the year. Year in and year out. We're not. And hopefully we won't, despite the hope of some in the gun lobby.
Victor.
