Just to clarify, I do not have a problem
with a family days special event where wives and children are invited to the
function. On the contrary, let's have 'em and enjoy them to the
fullest! My issue is when the special events become the norm and morphs
into the Rangers or FCF program, thus stepping away from the foundational
mission statement of the Royal Rangers ministry, at least until the
national guidelines change.
Remember, also, "guidelines" is probably the most
acceptable term for "rules, bylaws, etc." The policy, or guidelines for my
place of employment is that I am there on time, work a full eight hours a
day, do my job to the fullest, and to follow other guidelines as laid
out in our employment manual. I do not work at a christian place of
business, yet my standards should be higher there than for the
ministry I am involved in? I don't think so.
