Just to clarify, I do not have a problem with a family days special event where wives and children are invited to the function.  On the contrary, let's have 'em and enjoy them to the fullest!  My issue is when the special events become the norm and morphs into the Rangers or FCF program, thus stepping away from the foundational mission statement of the Royal Rangers ministry, at least until the national guidelines change.

Remember, also, "guidelines" is probably the most acceptable term for "rules, bylaws, etc."  The policy, or guidelines for my place of employment is that I am there on time, work a full eight hours a day, do my job to the fullest, and to follow other guidelines as laid out in our employment manual.  I do not work at a christian place of business, yet my standards should be higher there than for the ministry I am involved in?  I don't think so.

Subject: [RR] Women in FCF

Commanders
I do not see what the problem here is.  Each District is their own separate entity and can do what they want.   If they want a FCF family days WITH women, it does take them to be a family, then so be it.  Remember, what comes our of National Office is GUIDELINES.  What they probably are afraid of is that they will take most of the prizes.

Well...  The women may not be able to actually join FCF, but that does not prevent them from participating - if they so choose - like at a FCF Family Camp.

As far as I am concerned the women can participate as much or as little as the wish at our Sectional FCF Camp. We held our first ever FCF Family Camp this year, but the participation level was down.  Rather think it was due to a 4 hour thunder shower in the early morning hours and rain forecast.  Some of the tents and shelters had rivers running through them, but we had a good time anyhow.  The women went shopping at a nearby mountain town, and that was their choice.

I'm with DJ, let's not buck the issue even if we disagree with it as it doesn't help matters any.  Instead work back channel, behind the scenes to get things changed at he National Level.
