I disagree.  I think the real question is "Why are we still quibbling over this issue?"  We are not Boy Scouts, yet we compare ourselves to them.  As stated in an earlier posting 'we are a ministry, not a program,' yet we want to conform to the standards of a program, not ministry.  We are a ministry of God set apart, yet we cannot accept that, we have to be like the rest of the world.  If we look in biblical history, isn't this just asking for trouble?  Israel wanted a king and they got one, and were never again the nation God wanted them to be.

Our national leadership has addressed the issue of women in this ministry, albeit, not to everyone's satisfaction.  Do I question the ability of women to minister to boys in this ministry?  Not at all!  Do I suggest we allow women to serve as we see fit and disregard the guidelines set forth by our leadership?  Again, not at all.  Is there a place for women to serve?  Certainly.  Currently that role is defined by our leadership.  Will that role change and expand?  I don't know, but if it does, I will wholeheartedly endorse it.  However, until it does, I will accept the decisions of our leadership and submit to their authority.

I also understand this posting does not extend to apply to our brothers and sisters in other countries, but only to those under the leadership of the USA Royal Ranger National Office.  So please don't flame me on that issue.

If you want to change to Boy Scouts, or any other program for that matter, please do so, just do not do it in a Royal Ranger uniform.  If you do, you are not promoting Royal Rangers, but whatever program you wish to be part of.  Royal Rangers are set aside to "Reach, Teach, and keep boys for Christ," (which as I understand it is NOT the purpose of Boy Scouts and other programs) and I do not see how we can do that when we are bickering about these issues again and again.

Having not yet been able to attend NTC, I don't know what Knotty is, but I certainly don't think anything there is intended to ridicule any aspect of Royal Rangers nor to make ridicule a foundation of Royal Rangers.  Perhaps I just misunderstood, since I don't know what Knotty is.

Yes, the devil has inroads everywhere and strives to cause division.  Is he succeeding in Royal Rangers with this issue?  I pray not, but look at the evidence we are in the midst of even now with merely having this discussion . . . . again.

Striving to Reach, Teach and Keep,

The real question is why the taboo?  Boy Scouts have men and women leaders and they are for the boys.
I still don't see the reason for the why of it.  However I still don't see the need of Knotty at NTC other than make ridicule a Royal Ranger foundation.

The truth of the matter...the devil has his inroads and he makes divisions in all kinds of ways.

Perhaps, and this is just a thought from my feeble little brain, two different ministries have two different set of guidelines?  If Youth and Rangers had the same guidelines then they would not be Youth and Rangers, but one singular ministry.  Youth shouldn't have to be bound to the same guidelines as Rangers because their mission is not "To Reach, Teach and Keep BOYS for Christ."

Great. I would like to hear a report and take some pictures as well.

As a sectional commander I am not allowed to cohost male-female events between churches.  A single church event is allowed.  Wonder why Uth don't have to adhere to these principles...hum?

I understand the pertrified horse thing and all.  In fact, the article I sent about girls trapping, etc., was a commentary on how our culture has changed.  The girls in FCF comment was tongue in cheek and not meant to stir the pot again.

I understand the mission - reach, teach, keep boys for Christ.  But it would be nice to have a family FCF event one of these days where you can bring the family.
