My thoughts on the changes, uniform, etc., and the ministry goals. Royal
Rangers is a ministry/program, yes both. The individual parts are all tools
to achieve the overall goals. I believe that the goal of reaching, teaching
and keeping is best accomplished by the complete Royal Ranger program. The
uniform, camping, FCF, etc., are only tools to reach these goals. Is Royal
Rangers the only way to accomplish them? NO!!! But we need a standard.
If some churches want to do something other than Rangers to reach boys,
then go for it. If they could have an alternative program and Rangers, great!
If the National Office comes up with something else for churches that for
whatever reason don't want to do Rangers and some churches that didn't have
something start reaching boys then Praise God. Some boys who would not
otherwise hear the Gospel will do so.
All of us need to realize that the success of our local Outposts does not
rest with what is decided at Springfield, but how we conduct our
ministry/program on the local level.
