By now you all know some of what is going on with out outpost.
Our Sr. Commander is one of several people in our church that holds a
"home fellowship group" (also known as "Care Group")at his house for any
one in the church that wants to attend. Last night the leader of the
care group asked for prayer request and praise reports. One couple that
just started attending our care group, have two sons that are Pioneers in
our outpost. The mother of these boys told both my Sr.Commander and I
how vital and important Rangers is to her sons. SHe went on to explain
after the last camp out, both of her sons were on fire for Rangers. All
they could talk about is the hike we took down the face of Mt. Laguna
(tried to go from 6000 ft to sea level, there was more rock climbing than
hiking). This mother went on to explain how much of an impact Rangers
made not only on her sons, but on her family. Since her sons started
going to Rangers and her family started attending our church, the tension
in her family has significantly decreased, both of her sons and her
daughter are starting to ask questions about Jesus and God. Such as "How
do I know if God is talking to me?" and "How do I know if I am praying
right?" The mother didn't know what to tell them. All she could say is
ask your Commanders. I looked over to my Sr. Commander and could see
that God was talking to him. He was really hearing what this mother was
saying and was hopefully realizing how important we are.
Then later on in the meeting, one of the ladies in the care group started
talking about her daughter that ministers to boys that have been turned
over to the state for one reason or another. She explained haw these
boys are unloved and unwanted. Their parents don't want them and the
state doesn't care about them or want them. One of the boys, that had
been ministered to by this lady's daughter explained how, she is the only
form of love and respect they have ever had. She then said, "There are
thousands of kids out there with no one to love them, and it is up to us
to show them the love of Jesus and love these kids."
God was really speaking at our care group. I pray that my Sr. Commander
was listening and will answer Gods call.
