I agree with Duane about the devil and idle hands. However, some people do
repeatedly attempt suicide but it is generally accepted that this is more a
cry for help than a genuine attempt to kill themselves. You will usually
find that these "events" are planned in such a way that someone will find
them before they die. My wife believes that her neighbour's final successful
attempt at suicide was actually a miscalculation or slip. She believes that
he was arranging to hang himself as his wife returned and either thought
that she had returned before she did or slipped. In my own case thoughts of
suicide were brought about by the knowledge that I could never life my life
as I wanted to live it. Thank God that it brought me to Jesus and His saving
grace. Since then the thought of suicide has never entered my head as I can
now live some of the time as I would want to.
