Not looking to argue. One of the proofs used was the very thin layer of
dust on the moon indicating a young universe. NASA expected many feet of
dust and this was a real concern to them as they were afraid the ship or
astronauts might sink or bog down. Population growth study is another
tool.
        Actually I think the 10000 yr. figure is too liberal, more like 6000 as
the Bible suggests.
