I made char cloth recently according to directions provided by Duane Wheeler.
I used muslin cloth which was an off white color. Some of the cloth appears
to have burnt while the rest is black. The charred cloth appears to be
somewhat thin. There is a black substance around the small hole in the top
of the can and on the inside lid.
I would be grateful for any thoughts. Should I just stick to using white
T-shirts?
