Technically speaking, each group can have its own, but seldom are
groups big enough, at least here in the Northern New England District
in the USA.  We use 1 senior guide for the whole outpost.  He 
officiates the opening ceremonies, which we do as an outpost.
His other duties are unique to the khaki boys.  This works well
for us and has the advantage of giving the SG a taste of leadership
in all the age groups.
