> What has been your best experience in Royal Rangers?
>
I have had the honor of some memorible camp outs with Royal Rangers...
Backpack trips in the High Sierras, River journeys... and time with my
Outpost
Family where a soft spoken word has changed minds and compeled decisions...
shown in the 'sparkle of a boys eye...
I'm one of the few to have seen it with the eyes of a boy and the heart of a
man,
and *because the question asks "Best experiance" I have to be honest about
something important. My "best" experiance isn't about me.
My "best" experiance is knowing my Commander was able to lead Mitch Silvers
to the Lord... It's 32 years ago today, that he lost his life..out in a rice
paddy by
the hands of an enemy. We couldn't do anything that... but someone did do
right by Mitch
and I'm so proud Cdr.Hank was "on the job"...
Royal Rangers touched this boy when he needed wise council before a fight...
and regretibly he fell... *but in falling he landed safe in the arms of Jesus
his master..
Mitch did the right thing, and Cdr.Hank was a "minister of the gospel of
peace"
*I must say I am so happy that Jesus is the center-on point in the "meaning
of the emblem" It's
because of him that we have hope in a world of hurt and hate. Our fellowship
is one of "beleviers"..
No "program" is better than knowing in "your know'r" you are right with your
God...
My thinking may be on or I may from time to time drift from the mark, but
keeping Christ central is the key to staying true to those I have known,
loved
and missed... and putting my eyes on Jesus will lead me home.
To be READY for anything... forshadows a great moment for all of us!
Mitch went from the Outpost's back row to a front seat with Jesus..
*Perhaps we'll live to be old... perhaps we'll die young.
*Perhaps we'll find a special mate for this life...perhaps we won't.
*Perhaps we'll become fathers, and *get to do it all again!
Royal Rangers is a "Lifetime Adventure"
(It wasn't easy to write this.<G>)
I wanted to say I had some incredible heroic revelation that was due to
a "saul on the road to tarsus" bonk on the HEAD...... or being
"blinded by the light".... *That hasn't happened to me...or
to any Royal Ranger I know<G>
But one truth that still is difficult to live is that we do our selves a
favor by *prefereing
each other, and giveing of ourselvs.
Your BEST experiance hasn't happened yet<G>
