Thoughts on the the Minnesota Statewide Leaders Conference
March 3rd - 26th.

Just a few thoughts I wanted to share with all of you who were
at the Statewide Leaders Conference March 3rd - 26th. Being a
relative Newcomer to the program (2 years Assistant Commander,
1 year Commander, 1 year Senior Commander) I see things a
little different from those of you who are "veterans". When
we went over the proposed changes that will take affect in 2 -
4 years I saw a lot of disappointment, frustration and
misunderstanding. I heard these things also and it seems that
you think a changed Rangers program will be a poorer program
What I think needs to be said is that these changes are not for
you. You have found great success with our current program and
those of us that are successful at something; we are always
greatly endeared to it. These changes are for the Churches
that do not have Rangers, the Churches that tried and failed
and the churches that for whatever reason did not feel that
Royal Ranger was going to work for them. . We need to tweak
the program so it can be more quickly embraced and used by more
ministries.
Those of you who have found success can be effective and
successful with whatever programs you minister in. Your
ability to "Reach" the boys and help the come to know the
Lord, "Teach" them about our faith and "Keep" them on the path
for the rest of there days will never be taken away from you.
These are gifts and skills the Lord has given you and you will
use them the rest of your life where ever and whatever program
you find yourself in. The changes that are coming, and they
need to come, are going to help all of those people that have
never chartered an Outpost or have started an Outpost and it
was dysfunctional and died
Our goals are the same; the tools are just shifting a little to
be easier to use. There is no reason to loose pride in the
program because great Godly people always do great Godly work
with great Godly outcomes and that is all that really matters
isn't it?

Regards,

Cmdr Dick
