Well said Ken. Furthermore, the entire national office staff is STILL
actively involved on the local level -- they have all gotten involved in
Royal Rangers in various churches around the Springfield area since they
moved there. Our national leadership has a tremendous number of years of
involvement in the local outpost.

Furthermore, these changes have been reviewed by the national RR executive
committee numerous times, and have been presented and discussed at numerous
regional training seminars, etc. for the past several months. Thus, most
commanders have at least had the opportunity to go and hear about the
changes first hand, and to have the opportunity to discuss those changes
with the representatives from the national office. If you had the
opportunity, and failed to go, you missed your chance. But if
representatives from the national office came to your part of the country
and you failed to go to the meetings, I don't know what else commanders
expect them to do to show you what is coming, and to give you a chance to
respond . . .

Most recently, several hundred commanders (district and regional staff
members) from across the nation met in Springfield for National Council,
and these plans were actively discussed for several days. I know personally
that the plans and ideas were further modified as a result of those
meetings and discussions. For example, the concept for the new training
program was the subject of intense meetings during that week, and the
concept was refined and focused as a result of those discussions. The
actual development of the training modules is now beginning. The same is
true of the other aspects of the program.

Thus, the changes that are coming were not done in a vacuum, nor in an
"ivory tower." They were proposed by a national staff with years of active
local outpost leadership experience, with the advice and counsel of
hundreds of commanders from across the nation. If you still have concerns,
put them in writing to the national office ([EMAIL PROTECTED]), or discuss
them with your district commander who can pass them on. Complaining on
RangerNet won't accomplish much.
