Joshua,
Excellent comments on the current trail to the Gold Medal. I was amazed at
the complexity and ambiguity of the current advancement trail as my son
completed it. We didn't really understand all of the requirements until we
started filling out his application form for the GMA. At least when I
earned my GMA, I knew exactly what it was going to take to earn it. All I
had to do was all the advancements in Trailblazers and Trail Rangers! Not
an easy task, but it was a clear path to the GMA.
I think with the amount of effort that is going into the new program, we
will end up with a program that everyone should be able to back and
support. Thus, there should be little need for major changes in just a few
years.
Congratulations on your GMA -- keep up the good work as you continue in
both Royal Rangers and Boy Scouts.
