*Powerful!

Congratulations for pressing on with these vital questions!

Our on-going discussion about *Program vs *Ministry sheds
light on to what the practical effects of running a Ranger outpost
confronts in a local assembly! *Without "vision.. it will die.."

The post's about the Perfect outpost on Rangernet had many valuable
lessons in the reasons for volunteerism and recruitment...

*If I.. were to boil it down- (and that is very painfull<G>)

I'd arrive at the concept of "Believability"-

The boys MUST *beleve in the *program.. The CHURCH must believe
in the boys! ...and the leaders need to point in the right direction! They
MUST have a plan!

1. A long running Ranger Outpost must become organized!
2. It must re-new it's self and promote new leaders.. *Boys and Adult Leaders!
3.Success breeds success and makes the fog disappear! *When you can
see the trail, you can advance! *speek out on the GOAL... set the pace and move!

*Christian service is a "privilege" and a high honor...
Announce that "Commander bars" sell for $100 donation<G>

Yes.. FCF is a group "Called to serve" and go beyond the norm.. It was also
ment to be fun and a "pressure release" from the perfect outpost<G> It was to
head the program back to a "western adventure" and fulfill the
Pioneer/Trailblazer
"vision" of becoming a "pathfinder" a "ranger" a "scout"...ect. Innovation,
passion,
vision, fellowship, whitness, woodmanship, leadership!

*When we expand our footprint, to include others rather than exclude them,
a natural discussion about our Ranger code point of "polite" will breed a new
respect for the faith's of others.. we need to do that.. teach RESPECT!

We need to change from a Leader-led "Commander is Boss" attitude to a
Team concept and embrace true leadership building and character development
by using the resources available but not "apparent".. Look around to "who needs
a job" and give them yours!<G> ...when you give away the blessing more will be

added to you!

You retain people by having them feel involved and "owners" of the team..
*When the program rest's on the integrity of one man or one family it will
falter
in time and you will "burn-out"...

"Many hands make the burden light"

We should drive a spike through the heart of the evil thought that the
Commander/Boy relationship is paramount! *It's FAMILY CAMP
that rules the world! When we- all of us (Men and Women leaders)
can live with promoting the very best in the boys... *Fairness and
justice will result. We will indeed be polite, kind and thoughtful in balance
with the requirements of the job!

"The Christian role model we promote- is the Christ who died for ALL!"

BTW- when we drop the wall to Women you will *NOT see a flood of
women taking over- However if that was to happen it would be just fine<G>

My interest is in a "Quality" experience for the boys!

*There should be..

We have a FCF "Family Camp" and it's great...

Shift the "burden" to something understandable and clean..
"Coach" doesn't run the field to score the touchdown, but "suggests" a
game plan then powers up the "Team"... *That is the job<G>

*They got what they asked for.. and the bargain they struck was a cheap and
low impact, no hassle "thing".. *When Rangers become "alive" it raises the
blood pressure of the church..

This is not always welcome<G>

Men were boys..
Everything we have came from the father in heaven..
We should be grateful, and unto who much is given...

Much is required!

Minimize the equipment need!

Go with no tents.. use plastic tarps.
Have the boys bring what they got and improve as you go..

Demonstrate your ingenuity by a open display of your "poverty"
and compel those who "have" to give as they can... to bless
the boys..
