In Germany 38-45 there was once a group of Jews who had weapons and tried to
defend themselves against the nazis. This happened in the ghetto of Warszaw
I think in 43 or 44. There was an armed insurrection. The jews hoped that
the Red Army would arrive in time to liberate them. But as far as I know the
insurrection broke down some days before the Soviets reached the city of
Warszaw. Most of those who had not lost their lives during the insurrection
lost it by the hands of the nazis.
You see, posessing arms to defend themselves against their enemy didn't help
them too much.
