HOORAY FOR FRAPPER & JANET!
Hi! My name is Irene. I am a Buckaroo Ranch Boss and have been now going on
17yrs. I love working with the kids! I also work as a general aide at the
public school where my children attend.
This is a strange thing, all this talk about Special Ed. My son is coded
ADHD, Speech and Language and an IQ score low enough that they at one time
wanted me to code him Mentally Retarded. That was a few short years ago.
Since then it seems that the gap is widening on him. He is very pleasant and
very non-aggressive and all he wants to do is please.
The SPED dept. in my school has been very helpful. The teachers have bent
over backwards to help him and to help to feel good about himself. He
struggles with the studies but the teachers and SPED work very closely with
me and give me free reign when it comes to homework.
I think that in a lot of cases SPED seems to get a bum rap! I can't speak
for all of these but I feel I have a blessing with the group in our school.
I think I have a feeling to a very small extent as to what Frapper must go
through. There are times when I can't stand it watching my son struggle so,
a sweet young man of 12 with no friends but wanting to do good for others and
please others. Homework can be so frustrating and I hate it when I see kids
in school with parent who just don't seem to care.
It is truly heartbreaking. The kids are the ones who will pay in the longrun
for the non-caring attitude of the parents.
Now, I think I just shared that soap box of yours but I only replied to you
and not the entire rangernet.
Tell Frapper to keep up the good work and think only of the good he is doing
and the influence he has on the lives of these children. God knows his heart
and will reward him for it.
Love them and do what you can for them.
Sincerely,
Irene
PS: Are you Frapper's wife or just someone who reads the rangernet? If you
are just replying, could you please forward this to him? Thanks very much.
