Jerry is right. And I didn't mean my message to be flame of any sort.

Part of our problem here in the US is that most of the people who live and
vote here do not understand that the US is a REPUBLIC. This is not and
never has been a democracy. We use many democratic methods and we espouse
democratic principles, but because we are a republic, the one man, one vote
principle does NOT actually apply universally. Even in the late 17th century,
the framers of our Constitution were aware of the problems of the urban/rural
population. That is why each of the members of the House of Representatives
actually represent the same number of people, while the members of the Senate
represent their State. As Jerry said, this design prohibits the more populous
ares from running the country and allows Nevada to be the equal of California
or New York.
