I respect all of Duanes points of view.
I praise God that 2000 years ago Jesus Christ died to meet every need
we have. James 1:17 says that "Every good and perfect gift comes from the
Father of lights above, with whom there is no variation or shadow of
turning."
Everything else comes from somewhere else.
And it is all the result of man giving the dominion God gave him here
on earth to Satan when he sinned. Christ died to gain that dominion back,
then made us joint heirs in all the rights he has as victor over the dark
domain.
I would have to confess that I believe the achievements of modern
medicine to fall under the category of James 1:17.
But the devil wont let it just end there.
He hates God, hates us, and will try his best to everything
that God has done. He will try his best to get us to rely on anything but
the blood of Jesus Christ.
Modern medicine is one convenient tool he will use to achieve this
goal.
The word says that in the last days knowledge shall increase. Men shall
be lovers of themselves. We will see more and more modern miracles of
medicine in the near future. We will also see many miracles of various other
nature. The controversy they provoke will tear the Body of Christ to shreds
just like the cat of nine tails did His back 2000 years ago.
Most won't make it. They will be fooled. Men of much higher caliber
than I could ever lay claim to will be led astray.
I don't condemn the use of ritalin, or other forms of treatment, except
when they deny the total and complete work that was done on the cross. I
don't say that this has been done in this case. I just say that there is a
more excellent way. And the only command we need to make is to Satan: "You
have no authority! Get out of here. In Jesus' name."
