Just an opinion here but sometimes (actually often) "recommended" medication
is nothing more than a temporary fix (sedative) that does nothing to help the
boy.  I've seen kids with ADD/ADHD who didn't take the "recommended"
medication but were provided with proper outlets for their "expression" and
activity.  They turned out just fine - actually better than fine.
