I talked this over with GMA#3911 who just completed
the God and Life course under the council of a man
who works at the Community church we now attend.

Josh was very insightfull to me.

Josh and myself are now Scouters, and in the troop
are many families of Baptist,AoG, Church of God,
Cathlioc and Native American heritage.

Josh haveing bridged the BSA and RR programs, opened
up some correction on my "Bee hive kicking"
thinking<G>

He smacked me down good!
------------------------

Royal Rangers is a privet denominational sponsered
ministry, and has no need to express any respect for
alturnitive doctrine. The sovernity of RRangers lays
with it's ownership by the AoG and it's control of
materials. When we work as Commanders, we agree to
work for the AoG and it is clear we are to grow young
men into AoG fold.

A Jewish group or a Catholic group may exist souly
for the benefit of that doctrine, and has no
obligation
to teach tolerence for any other thinking. Likewise,
we also have no need to express tolerence for a
culture
other than our own, under the guidelines of the Ranger
Code that would advise us to be...

Polite,Kind and thoughtfull.

The four RED points are foundational to the RR
structure, and even if they are not practiced in
the local church... they are to be taught and
practiced
in the Outpost. Thus.. It is obvious that a Baptist
who attends a RR powwow will be *Invited forward to
accept salvation and be filled with the HolyGhost
with evidence found in "speaking in toungs"...

No question!

Josh Wheeler GMA#3911 continued that perhaps...
my desires for fairness and the teaching of tolerence
of individual faith was admireble, but that was NOT
the Ranger way.

(As you might guess.. this was a very interesting
discussion for 'old salty dog ->A No.1<- and somewhat
stressfull to listen too<G>)

Josh began to lecture that it was common knoledge that
RR was concieved to be a "bait" to hook boys into
attending a camp where the distractions were limited
and the full gospel could be preached.. resulting
in a decision by the boy for Christ. GMA#3911 told
me that this was the MAIN THING and any other goal
was secondary, such as Moral training.. Character
building and even Leadership opportunities.

I got out several "Yea but's..."
And Josh just kept fireing away<G>

"You seem to go on and on thinking that the emblem
represents a balance to all the points of the Code,
pledge and Motto from a unique perspective, that in
fact is a minority view"

"The TRUTH is that today Royal Rangers can go it's own
way and do whatever it chooses, become a soul winning
ministry and has every right to overlook current
secular humanist movements desires... So yes, DAD!
Royal
Rangers will never be a "Christian alturnitive to
Boy Scouts, as RR is quite satisfyed to remain a
outreach program for the Assemblies of God only"

*There was a moment of silence...and I was proud
that my son was so fervent in his convictions<G>

Dad.. you are very lucky that in bringing outside
thoughts into the Outpost no matter how "nobel"..
That you wern't confronted, challenged and removed.

*I understand your goal, but that is better met by
leaveing things as they are and following your heart
to new pastures of peace. These things you claim
are important are to be found elsewhere. So if you
ever
wear a RR Uniform you had best WORK FOR the *program
100% without a reservation or alturnitive agenda.

*OUCH!
