Ask an ye shall
receive does not mean “blab it and grab it” … ask in faith
believing. Ask and ye shall received
did NOT mean God has magic buttons that produce for us everything we want. God promised he would provide for our
needs and bless us. Some folks see
blessings in different ways…. But those who do not ask in humility and
faith believing are barking up the wrong tree. It would not take too much research to
find that the “prosperity gospel” of the 80’s left many
bankruptcies in it’s wake. --- As for Cathoics…
they don’t believe they are worshiping idols, so I doubt any we ask would
admit as such. But praying to any
other than God himself (versus those who are dead) is, in itself a form of idol
worship, since it takes the focus off of the one who is the source of our
answers and our salvation. I don’t stereotype any group, since I
know some Catholics who are certainly know Jesus as their personal savior and
even some who are charismatic… just as I’ve met ‘reformed’
Jews in the same light (“Jews for Jesus”). --- I think the pew warming remark should have
been self explanatory. It had
nothing to do with comfort of the posterior, but comfort zones of the owner of
that posterior. Too many Christians
are complacent and settled into their way of doing things and have compromised
themselves into believing that if they warm that pew on Sunday, the can live
their own way during the other 6 days…. Which is fully
contradictory to teachings in the Bible about why we even meet together in the
first place. IMHO… Parson. -----Original Message----- I'm curious... "Not the "gospel" as
found in the name-it-claim-it TV shows, "
the
statue-worshiping catholic church,"
"gospel"
as found in the comfy-pew no-sacrifice churches. " we are
