Yes, but my sarcastic point was this:  How do you know that those things violate the 
rules of the Bible unless you have personally tried them (at least that appears to be 
the logic of some on the list).  I know those things are wrong based on the hearsay 
that I heard growing up - without having to read/do them.  The same is true of the 
Harry Potter books - based on the advice and opinions of TRUSTED friends/mentors (and 
no one on this list knows whether my friends/mentors have read them or not) I won't 
read that garbage, nor will I allow my children to read them.

BTW, the verse says to abstain from the APPEARANCE of evil - it does NOT say to prove 
the evil and then stay away from it.  If it appears evil - leave.   Hmmm, magic, 
incantations, anti-Christian author, publisher, and media...  APPEARS evil to me - I'm 
abstaining.
