A couple of weeks ago I had the duty of doing what you are about to do. Because of a church split last year we lost several commanders and boys. Now we have only one commander for both the Discovery and Adventure Ranger groups, so I brought two boys up with me, one 8 year and one 12 year to show to the church why we need to split them up. I already had two men interested but I think this helped them decide to help. So I am working with them for a few weeks to help get them started. My suggestion is to bring some of the boys up with you and let one of the best speaking boys say a word about how much they enjoy Rangers, and ask the church to help them. Maybe through the boys God will speak to a open heart. I will try to answer the other question as well.
