Nagari ambo Tanjuang Sungayang di Tanah Data, salah satu objek yang dijadikan tujuan oleh para wisatawan domestik maupun mancanegara yaitu "Batu angkek angkek". Apakah seluruh anak nagari Tanjuang Sungayang senang atau bangga dengan kondisi ini..? samasekali tidak....! Sebagian anak nagari telah mengusulkan agar batu tersebut disingkirkan saja dari Tanjuang, karena menurut mereka mudhoratnya lebih banyak dari manfaatnya.

Strange but evident, a stone that purposely can became a size for known your
desire or willing. Your desire or willing can be granted if you can lift this
stone.
But if your desire or willing not be granted, don't hope you can lift it.
The name of the stone is strange, it is "Batu Angkek-Angkek" or "Batu Ujian".
There are from Minangkabau language, it means "Lift Stone" or "Examine Stone".
The other people so said the stone "Batu Palagan". Because the stone be located
in the Palagan village.
Palagan mean is the place for "laga" or fight. Formerly there are meadow for
figting cock near it.
The stone be found in Datuk Bandaro Kayo's house from Piliang Ethnic.
Location of the stone is about 8 kilometers from Batusangkar town, the capital
of Kabupaten Tanah Datar, in front of SD 1 Tanjung.
The stone form like a turtle, there exist some letters that can't be readed or
meaned by general people.
Someone who will know his desire or willing to become true or not must lift up
the stone by requisite take "wudhu'. Wudhu' special for the moslems, that is
wash your face, hand, hair, ears and your feet, each of them three times, and
then you can inside the place of the stone. After that you must sit with the
knees bent look out to direction of Mecca, then burn the Kemenyan, incense
derived from gum benzoin, and said kind of your God, special for the Moslems
said Bismillah and Shalawat three times. And then you must admit while take
hold of the stone and pray with the God. After that you lift the stone to you
lap. If your desire or willing to be come true, the stone will be lifted
easily, but if the desire or willing not be come true, you can't even lift to
your lap, let alone rub against.
Follow of Datuk Bandaro Kayo, for the people who's not Moslem may lifting the
stone agree with their religion.
The "Batu Angkek-Angkek" was founded about 500 years ago and inherited by seven
generations.That stone was founded by Datuk Bandaro Kayo's family when they
want to build the village, which that place still as forest.
When Datuk Bandaro Kayo and his group cleans that place for build emergency's
cottage became an oddity. The stick in the first pole to the land, they
stricken the stone.
In that location suddenly became rain while sun is shinning, local earthquake
and hurrying thunderbolt. And that more cause amazement members of the group,
from the hole which place of pole has stick in suddenly dispersed colourful
light during 24 days and 14 nights.
On the 14 th day, the members of the group make a profitable to moved cottage
to another place, but at the time they hearing a voice that came from the hole
that said the stone which was found in the hole in order to lifted in to the
cottage, then smoking by the white Kemenyan and so building a village there and
namely the village "Kampung Palagan: or "Palagan's Village".
The hole digged, and they found there are two stones stick together.
When one piece of the stone pick up, the another one piece vanish to the
ground. A piece which still left has taken to the cottage.
Datuk Bandaro Kayo said that Batu Angkek-Angkek protected by the man whose has
clean light face and young. He use the white wear such a robe. However that man
can't seen by common people. In fact that stone also for help treat sick people
and for rice in field which attacked by pest.
Before you leaving that place, please put there some rice, or eggs or aromatic
flowers or you can put the money there for religious meal.
Please try it.
Note :
Don't make a wrong desire, like ask the lucky number, gambler, or make someone
down. For woman who's menstruation no lift the stone.
