Funny guy, Bruce!!!   Actually I am a compulsive organizer, I'm not happy
unless at some point during the day I have thrown something out, or recycled or
donated it.  At some point my house is going to look like an interrogation
room.  But I am guilty of having a "computer junk" pile that is bigger than
necessary (but luckily hidden so that I never see it, which is the problem
actually).  I carefully looked thru your list, and I never had any of those
things.   I am still hanging on to the CDs I have for Visual Basic 6.0, my
favorite (and last) version

However, you made me look in my "software box".  I still have floppies for
RBase 5.5 and 6.0, a floppy with "DOS 4GW files" (or so the label says...)   26
floppies in all.  I guess those can go in the trash?

Javier:  Funny you mention that.  A couple months ago on one of my periodic
purges of office papers, I ran across my Crystal Reports instruction manual
that came with that old RBase for Windows!   I had forgotten using that as the
report writer, that was a pretty powerful little piece of software!   And taped
inside were my little floppies.  Don't remember the virus issue.   Floppies got
tossed, manual went into the recycle pile.  I put only one of my clients on
version 5.?    I wasn't real impressed with that early version and luckily
waited around for 6!

would have to access the R:Base database from Crystal via ODBC/Oterro and it
should work OK…at least in theory, and you can start Crystal from within an
R:Base application, I do this with other applications. As a side note, the first
version of R:Base for Window, version 5 something, included Crystal Reports as
the report writer. The distributions disks also included a virus and we were
quickly notified and send replacement floppies. If I recall correctly, this
might have been the last version for Microrim/Abacus before RBTI took over.

Subject: [RBASE-L] - Crystal Reports & R:BASE Extreme X.5  Good afternoon,  I’m
running the latest update of eXtreme X.5, does anyone know if I can print a
report created in Crystal Reports from inside an R:BASE application? I know I
can recreate the reports with R:BASE, which I plan to do, but because of a time
crunch I’m in from delaying a project because of COVID-19 I’m wondering if I
can print them from my application.  TIA,Paul Buckley--
