David,

I had this exact same thing happen to me today in fact. Here is what I did that worked.
Simply delete the field, then replace it with the exact same object. I don't know why it worked or wasn't working in the first place but it fixed the problem and it was easy.

Give it a try. Good luck!

This does not solve my problems, nor does any solution that was proposed on this mailing list so far. Some fields in the Report header refuse to show up, even though they work in the DOS version.

I have an invoice detail report that I've tried
to convert from the DOS R:BASE and use it on the
Windows R:BASE and I've had bad experiences with
it. For one, certain fields won't display in the
printed report page (to the screen or the printer).
Strangely, when I click on one of the fields, then
preview the report, the missing fields show up.
However, there's no way to get the fields to display
if i simply print the report.

David,

Follow these steps to convert R:BASE 6.5++ DOS Report
to R:BASE 6.5++ for Windows.

Let's assume that the DOS report name is 'MyReport'.

As you have already converted DOS 'MyReport' to Windows,
first you need to delete that converted Windows 'MyReport'.

DELETE ROWS FROM SYS_REPORTS2 WHERE SYS_REPORT_NAME = 'MyReport'

Note: DO NOT use Windows Object Manager to Delete report. It
will delete the same report from DOS as well as Windows.
(Of course there is no problem in R:BASE 7.0).

Now, using the R:BASE for Windows Object Manager > Reports:

01. Highlight the 'MyReport'
02. Click on [Yes] button when prompted for:
        Do you wish to upgrade?

03. Click on [No] button when prompted for:
Would you like R:BASE to auto-format your report?

04. In Report Designer, make sure to adjust right margins
        of the report accordingly.

05. Adjust the report layout accordingly.
Report Designer > Layout > Report Settings...

If the portrait, set Lines per Page: 72
        Print Orientation: Portrait
Report Margins: Left: 0.5, Right: 8.0

06. Save the report and close Report Designer.

07. Object Manager > Reports > Highlight 'MyReport' > Run

Hope that helps!

Very Best R:egards,

Razzak.
