boys age... and while everyone I new (including myself) were working part

friends, were out of the house, in school and working at 18... I know way to
many folks now who have kids at home near 30 who haven't decided on a
career as yet.

Ben,

I was out of the house, and on my own at 16, so I remember what it took as well. I can also remember spending 3 weeks of paychecks on my car to go blow it up again ( I was one of the motor heads at the time), calling off work, or going in late, and all of that. <g> And if you remember, we had the kids still at home in their 30's, or living off of the generosity of others. We just called them Hippies or Long Hairs <g>

I've learned that most kids just need time to be kids, and after about 25 or 30, they actually remember some of the things we taught them at 10, 15, 20, and so on. Actually, if anything, it seems we rush them to be adults, take responsibility, and all of the things they have to do.

And, fwiw, I have learned to take responsibility, solve problems, take ownership, but I STILL refuse to grow up <g> ANd now, contrary to Bob Dylan's lyrics, I DO trust people over 30 <g>
