[RBASE-L] - Re: BAR CODES

Bernie.

Some of the bar code readers I have looked at work like what I think others on
this list call a wedge system. It is plugged in-line with the keyboard and
basically will send information to any application as if it was entered
from the keyboard. I would hope you system does the same. I would not like
to have to go read a file or some other method. I have even seen some that
will send a Return / or Tab key after the data entered so we could then fire
off an eep to continue processing and so on. This is really cool. One of the
other pieces of hardware I have a need for is one of those signature capture
devices .. will get to that someday.

We will be using it with 7.0
 - we just ordered a credit card reader - hoping to plug it into our usb
keyboard (which we just ordered that has 2 usb ports)
My problem will be getting the authorization code back into R:Base.
Razzak has suggested using Rbase special services.  I sent an email to them
but so far no response.
