Eric This particular thread I fell responsible for starting over a month ago. I am in way pleased to have found that I am not alone on this one. And with help Of Dennis I will do some more testing in a few days with an UDF solution. His suggestion has passed my first test, but volume testing will give the verdict. I must say however much I want the problem to disappear, since my users are blaming me for all the reboots they have to do.
BUT I believe we have to accept that there will be no more releases in 6.5++ RBTI in my opinion should focus 1. 7.0 win version 2. 7.0 DOS version which I very much look forward to. So Eric please join me in a plea that DOS 7.0 will haven taken care of an elusive problem that I cant replicate but know will happen now and then. And if DOS 7.0 does not do it I suppose even I will eventually have to give up DOS apps and go for windows. Every routine in our application does a zip return when it returns to the main menu. So what I mean is that in our situation, zip return doesn't work all the time. Why doesn't it work? I have no idea and really don't have the time to figure it out. Our consultant has notified RBTI as have many readers on this list and they just ignore the problem. Do you mean it doesn't work in the long run ... meaning it doesn't release all memory, so you still end up running out of resources or.. it doesn't work in the long run ... meaning in a "loop" it doesn't work correctly or at all. or .. it doesn't work in the long run ... meaning you have found a situation in which it doesn't work or .. some other pertinent information.
