I do not have problem with having 2 lists. I will venture to guess that most
of the developers/members monitor both lists anyway and the topics tend to
be specific to each version. If it is a subject that affects both versions
(such as conversion/upgrades) it will likely be posted to the 7.0 List.

I concur, Gunnar, unless there's some really good reason to do this
segregation, it should all be integrated, as it were. Otherwise, it seems
to me, it can result in a kind of "silo-ing" of information, which is not
why we use the list.

Of course, maybe just a bit of sports and politics would be okay ...

Patrick (and Razzak)
To me that means that the two list should become one where we can discuss
anything from R:Base 4000 To 7.1 (forget about sports and politics). I
understand that is RBTI's intention. My (and I guess Pats) opinion is now!

Thanks Razzak for that information. I just noticed that total messages
here were about 4,800 last year vs. 8,000 in 2002, and I wondered if the
"7.0 Only" user's list was getting more active at the expense of this
mailing list?

I'm somewhat at the mercy of my clients who have yet to commit to 7.0
despite my "suggestions"! Having access to on-going dialogs and ideas would
be useful in that effort.
