Dear John,
I know all the benefits and wonderful stuff you can have if we upgrade it to
current.
I have attended the conference in Pittsburg last year and was completely
sold by the presentation.
But have you worked in a government environment? I am sure you do. You know
how difficult it is to change things around in such an environment once an
impression gets into those people's brain and mind?
Anyway, A possibility is if I buy the current version on my own and develop
programs in a new version and it can be run under the old v6.5 environment,
they may not object. But they are adamant about upgrading to higher with
their own (local Government money). Can this be even possible?
Thank you.
Aiko Ichimura

The system had been designed in-house by not a programmer but someone who
thought Rabse was good for his environment. Mostly he did well but here
and there some strange symptoms are popping up. Unfortunately this made
very bad impression about Rbase as a bad environment and they have been
thinking of replacing with something.
In the meantime, then need my assistance to get by day-today business
transactions.
There is no hope for them to upgrade it to higher version of Rbase at this
moment.
Anyway, I have to keep going within v6.5 to make my clients' lives easier.
Dear Aiko,
Please understand that you or your clients cannot blame R:BASE for the
original programmers short comings. Ask any R:BASE user/developer, or any
software developer, that you can only expect a product to perform with
what you put into it.
This community will be the first to confirm that some still have clients
running legacy applications and have not yet upgraded to the new version,
yet.
To help them understand "why" they should upgrade, please review the
