But seriously, I bought my grandson a dv8xxx model for college and it seems to be a pretty good machine so far. I was thinking of a dv9700 series. I am open to experiences though. Be mindful, I damn near never use a laptop except for the excursions to PA and when traveling a few times a year, so I am going to spend less than $2500. Oh, and I have to have 17" screen (they still look small).
