Dan - I upgraded a client with 30+ users from 7.5 to 8.0 and the only phone calls I got were about customized plugins that I hadn't remembered about where I had to change the names to show "80" in command files.
It takes as long as doing an UNLOAD ALL (as Razzak indicated) and installing the V-8 program files - it's really that simple. I wouldn't wait for version 9.0 - having the long table and column names and not being concerned about file size limitations are just some of the great features. We had a unique and positive experience yesterday that I thought I would share. One of our suppliers sent a file to us for import into Rbase. What we didn't know was that the file was 13.5 million records. Using the "load table from filename as formatted" command, the load took approximatey five minutes and the rx2 file grew to about 4 gigabytes.
