Let me throw my two cents in. I have tried to convert as much as possible to v8 for just his reason - speed. I wonder if you had rules set to off. If you have rules it does slow imports down some to my understanding. My imports have been like lightning, although I have not had a million record yet. The other plus about v8 is the searching is much faster - even a non-indexed string search. I suppose this is due to the increase bits.
