If you're editing in RB Editor, the backup file should actually be called 
RBENGINE76.~CF  (no G at the end).   But in any case, RBase won't look at that 
file since it's not the proper filename.  You can probably delete it, but it 
isn't causing this problem.   Did you look in RBENGINE76.CFG to see if there's 
any MENU commands?    I've had RBase.cfg files that were so old that they still 
had the command CGA ON/OFF!   Boy, windows complains about that one!
