We just finished testing. A simple test with a save as CSV from Office 2007 imports into 6.5++ just fine, even text with spaces and commas. We haven't tested using real-world spreadsheets yet, but it seems like this will be the way we go.
The Office 2007 save as Excel 5.0 does produce a workbook, not a worksheet, and 6.5++ does not recognize it.
