I've not followed this thread too closely, but thought I could offer
what little knowledge I've gathered on the subject.

I've worked in a dual monitor environment for some time, and manage a
Windows 2003 Terminal Server that users with dual monitors connect to. I
have no idea as to Citrix as I've never set them up before.

If you have two or more physical monitors, it is possible to stretch
your RDP view by using a command line switch when running the client;
'mstsc /span'

The caveat is that your monitors MUST be at the same resolution. There
is a maximum allowable resolution of 4096 x 2048 and all your monitors
must be arranged side-by-side. See
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/925876 for these details.

If your Terminal Server is Windows 2008 and you have a Windows 7 box,
you can use the new GUI RDP client and check the Multiple Monitor
checkbox. From what little I've read about this feature, you can have
more monitors and arrange them on top of one another in addition to
side-by-side.

In this spanning mode for us the Terminal Server only recognizes the
entire resolution being displayed, so all pop-ups and new windows see
the center of the desktop being the split. A bit inconvenient when you
constantly have to resize your windows and arrange them left and right
of the split.

There is an application called Split View (www.splitview.com) that
claims to solve this issue for TS and Citrix. ONLY $729 per server.
