I have one machine (my own) that when Vipre AV is installed brings RBase to its knees. I changed all Vipre settings to disable anything that I could think would effect Network performance and wasn't successful.

I remember Javier saying he had similar issues, but worked them out. Nontheless, you might look in that direction, unless it is system wide and not just a couple of boxes.

Charles, it sounds to me as if you have network problems rather than trouble with the database. Have your network guru do some transfer tests to find the weak link.
