Karen - I have win7-64 and am sort of soured on it. I have a plotter, a printer and an MFP for which there are no drivers.
Also my older Windows billing program doesn't run on Win7-64.
Win 7-64 doesn't natively run DOS but you can install a virtual Win XP Pro machine (hardware permitting) and run DOS in that. I'm not sure if my issues above are because it's 64 bit vs 32 or if it's Win 7 in general.
I'm 75% considering upgrading to Win XP Pro.
I also don't care for the Win 7 explorer (personal opinion) and it crashes (fact).
Wonder why she's selling a new lappy for almost .5 the new price?
Ok, I do like the ability to pin icons on the taskbar and launch apps from there - the icons are always in the same position.
Doug
p.s. It also didn't come with Solitaire ;)

Remember I posted a week ago about laptop specs.
I saw a posting of someone selling a Toshiba Satellite
Pro that has the power you all recommended, BUT it
has a 64-bit operating system. Knowing that most of
what I do is RBase, everything from DOS 2.11 to
current, will I have problems with 64 bit? Is 32 bit a
safer bet? Anyone found programs that don't work in
32-bit, or can you "downgrade" to 32 from 64 if you
have to? She's selling an $850 laptop new for $450.

Thanks a bunch!

Karen
