It is true that some Base elements of VB that have been around since before
Basic Had a "Visual" to it are being homogenized to accommodate the Common
Language Runtime that is Centric To DotNet, but the language structure and
presentation is not getting a complete re-write. Most of what developers
were hollering about regarding arrays, Microsoft acquiesced to their
desires. For the Last two versions, developers have been screaming to have
VB grow up to include Inheritance like the other OO languages, but when
Microsoft gave them All they wanted and Much Much more, they screamed again
in opposition. I think most were being short sighted in realizing they were
going to have to continue to use VB6 to support their existing Apps and
learning and developing in VB7.Net for their Web apps and anything New. It
is just like anything when there are major changes made, some want and
welcome the changes and others have to be brought along kicking and
screaming. What would it be like if everyone agreed on every point.....
pretty boring and probably not very much "outside the Box" thinking.
