Do the yyyyy characters appear in both fields, or only the one?

Also, what are your 3 expressions?

If you browse the table directly, looking at the data that this form is
calling, how does it appear? Any strange characters in there?

The ASCII characters must be coming from somewhere because
R:BASE just won't create them.
