Although VB certainly is a very competent language, in
its current encarnation it offers neither object
oriented programming (lacking the first criteria:
inheritance) nor the best IDE on the planet.  I
understand that the next version (7) at least offers
object oriented programming but is a substantially
different language than the current version.
