The question is: If [Esc] is stuck in the keybuffer why does it not appear
in the
keypress stream until after a key is pressed to enter/edit data in the
form?
I would guess because whatever is sticking the [Esc] into the buffer is not
triggering a keyboard interrupt.

I my case, the problem was :
>From time to time, when I was entering a form in EDIT USING mode and then
press F7/F8 to jump to the previous/next row, the form closed and I return
to the menu ...
No problem when I typed a letter or a digit.

I tryed to understand why (several weeks ...) and I had the idea to look to
the buffer.
What was happening is that unwanted Escape (I don't know where it comes
from ..) that was executed, and not F7/F8.
