I was always under the impression that SCREEN RESTORE didn't work for
Windows, only for DOS.  

I used SCREEN RESTORE OFF in a DOS appliation where I have an eep that
will use WRITE commands to put something on my form.  If you
had the default SCREEN RESTORE ON, then when you exited the eep and
came back to the form, it would redraw the form and write over your
Write's.   After setting SCREEN RESTORE OFF, I always set it back
on again.
