(Posted simultaneously to the R:BASE and Witango list servers)

Over the past week, we saw two companies with a nearly identical history come together
in
Pennsylvania to share talents and resources. It is apparent that these two
organizations
also share a promising future together.

Although R:BASE provides an immensely capable 32-bit SQL compliant, multi-user
relational
database engine, the web front end is needed to interactively communicate the results
to the
world. Similarly, Witango can bring powerfully capable web solutions to customers in
just a
few short weeks, unlike the months or years it takes for competitive products.
However,
Witango requires a back end powerhouse of relational technology to provide fully
functional,
mission critical, web-deployed solutions.

Unfortunately, the strength of R:BASE is limited if the world cannot be exposed to the
most
powerfully complete relational database engine available on an Intel chip. In the
same way,
all the artistry of design and presentation provided in the Witango environment may
not be
appreciated as it should without a data powerhouse at its source. The fact is,
"beauty is
only skin deep," and technological data-mining leadership is fruitless without an
audience.

For a variety of reasons, some customers cannot launch into the web world right now.
For
them, R:BASE 7.0 provides a tremendous tool with a great GUI front end for true Windows
interaction to the R:BASE data engine. It's perfect for people who love desktop
applications and need to produce GUI front ends sharing local data. And, when the
time is
right, they will be ready for web deployment by simply adding Witango to their R:BASE
data
warehouse.

The last five days was more than two separate companies sharing hotel costs for their
annual
conferences. It was a melding of two families. Until now, there were no complete
solutions
available which combine powerful data warehousing with a sophisticated presentation
component without spending more than most IT budgets can afford. Together, Witango and
R:BASE can create comprehensive web-centric database solutions better, faster, and
easier
than any other suite of products available today.

Our competitors will be coming - sooner than you think. The true opportunity we
R:BASE and
Witango developers have is that our collective community owns the only competitively
priced
set of tools that provide web-centric, mission critical database applications! Your
customers will, one day, come to the realization that their businesses will be at risk
if
they don't embrace this type of toolset before their competition does. The question
is,
will you be prepared to service them?

The tools are tremendous and the demand is huge, yet, the supply of a comprehensive
suite of
tools to satisfy the demand is almost nonexistent. Opportunity has rarely been this
easy to
grasp. The synergy, the vision and the excitement we experienced in Pennsylvania over
the
past week is infectious - everyone senses it. Now, it's time to put that good sense
into
action. Don't be left behind - embrace this technology and catch the emerging trend.
The
future is very bright. Prepare yourself - study, learn, develop - get ready for a
great
ride!
