Mike:
I ran into a similar problem.
The apps that I've developed in RBaseW, I distribute with RTimeW.
The two environments handle errors differently, especially regarding
locating PAUSE, DIALOG, and CHOOSE boxes on screen. Where RBaseW will
ignore a location problem, RTimeW will often crash.
I think this has to do with legacy support since all of these functions are
located on the screen by row and column, and Windows really doesn't
understand that.
The on-line help is incorrect in some of the allowable location parameters.
Search for some of my earlier posts to this listserv regarding this.

Mike,
I was working with a very large database on Windows 2000 and must say that
I
experienced the same thing. The same exact message was blue screened to me
and it was very frustrating. The only way that I was able to prevent it
was
to unload unused tables via backups and then to do packs. You can tell
when
it is working by looking at the size of your .RB? files.
When I did that, I would sprinkle holy water and go, the blue screens went
away. But, it is a memory release problem associated with size and
frequency of access.

We have found in testing that W2K does not properly release memory taken by
R:Base during processing. Our solution is to periodically exit R:Base and
go back in. We did run a command file that looked up the compspec, and did
a
ZIP RETURN &vComSpec /c EXIT
periodically, but that has recently failed us. Another list member
suggested
ZIP RETURN /cmd, but I have not been able to test it yet. The user is
exiting RBase frequently to ensure that the memory does not get eaten, and
has not crashed.
