What version are you using? I have learned the hard way that using different
formats eventually leads to problems. I have standardized all my
applications to use MM/DD/YYYY for input as well as output.

Subject: Date Dilemma

Working with a customer yesterday who was selecting a report with all dates
greater than "8/1/02" and they got ALL dates. Reloaded indexes, and made
sure they were using the greater than sign, but unable to locate problem.
They sent me their data base and I found the Date was set to:

Format: MM/DD/YY
Sequence: MMDDYYYY

Not sure how this happened but the result is that you get all dates greater
than 8/1/0002

>From the RBase Help for Set DATE:
>>>>
If the sequence is set to a four-digit year and the format is set to a
two-digit year, R:BASE stores the date you enter, such as 06/11/95, as a
four-digit year. As a result, if you use a WHERE clause to display rows
that have dates greater than 06/11/95, R:BASE returns all rows greater than
06/11/0095.

The DATE format can affect date functions. For best results, set the format
to the default MM/DD/YY and then use a date function.

It sounds a bit scary to ever have your format and sequence not to match.
Not sure when this would be a good idea. Hope to save someone else some
trouble shooting time.
