    setting eqnull on did it for me.
Buddy,
   checking for null and blank didn't fix it, that sounded logical to me at first so I tried that first, when it didn't work I took Claudines suggestion.

and  mfr = "xxx"
if mfr <> " " then ; print areport ; endif
nothing prints
if null is set = -0-
if mfr <> " " then ; print areport ; endif
prints the report but null fields show -0-, which is undesirable.
so, any suggestions?
